Reno Nevada - Nothing Little about The Biggest Little City in the World

Reno Sizzles
story and photos by Craig MacDonald
Reno, Nevada has been known as “The Biggest Little City in the World” in a couple of centuries now. Maybe that’s because of the friendliness of the townspeople–most consider a stranger a friend they haven’t met. Nothing little about that.
The World’s Greatest Entertainers have been appearing in Reno, seems like forever. Nothing little about that.
The National Bowling Stadium fills the town with thousands of the best rollers on Planet Earth. Nothing little about that.
The city, with the Truckee River running through it, has received international publicity for its World Class Air Shows, Rodeos and Automobile Museums. Nothing little about that.
The incredible University of Nevada at Reno sparkles with its nationally-acclaimed athletic and academic prowess. The neighboring Nevada Historical Society features a superb museum, research facility and giftstore known around the globe. Nothing little about that.
And we haven’t even mentioned the main thing that established Reno on the national buzz in the first place—its 24-hour gambling and fun centers. Bill Harrah built his fame around that; now Harrah’s is ranked by many as the top gaming company anywhere. Nothing little about that.
Skiing, watersports, hiking, golfing, camping—you name it. It’s all at or near Reno —home to a bevy of first rate hotels, like Harrah’s, Silver Legacy, Hilton & many more. There’s a buzz about the place—always has been. It brings you to life. Gives you a “Wow!” Makes you glad you’re alive. Nothing little about that. Check it out!
