Vacation Travel Ideas in a Global Warming Environment

Cute girl at beach

This spring and summer are surely going to create heated arguments as the weather seems topsy turvy around the globe. Is global warming caused by man’s own hand, or is it a natural phenomenon that would occur just the same? We believe that a combination of forces have pushed it forward at a faster pace. In California where I live, I can’t remember having quite so many warm days so early in the spring, and lasting as we head toward summer.

For local economies with beaches such as my home town, the heat is fantastic for travel & tourism. It gets people out, buying sodas, dining, parking cars at pay parking lots, and even booking hotels. I shudder at the cost of my airconditioning bill this year and moving forward, but the beauty of staying in hotels is that cool air is part of the deal. For instance, Palm Springs is promoting a heat savings. If you visit and stay in hotels now that the temperatures hover around 100+ degrees, then you’ll have a cheaper vacation.

I recently returned from a story about Palm Desert and found that many things shut down during their summer months, thanks to the unbearable heat. Theater productions, canyon hike attractions and many such items take a break, returning in the fall around late September. Throughout the world, we expect to see tourism and travel preferences relfected in the changes in climate. It still seems early for data to bear out this idea, but give it another few years and the trends will become clearer. For those seeking to be ahead of the curve, look for heat and sun-related products and items to become more popular in years to come. And look at what destinations will do to sell you on the concept of saving money when you come to their city or region and tolerate a litttle extra heat.

I don’t mind extra heat. I’d rather have sunshine and warmth than the overcast, rainy days I lived through all winter in Michigan. But…110 is too hot for me. I can’t take that. I hope that doesn’t happen. I would not like that.

Dont feel sorry. It’s 101 in Sacramento, CA. Toasty, hot. I’m thinking of visiting Canada or some place cool on my vacation this year. Maybe I’ll go where it’s winter now. Any ideas?

Cute girl. If things are heating up, more girls will be wearing swimsuits, right? That’s a good thang.

The earth has experienced many cycles of heating up, then cooling. I don’t believe that people have much to do with it. The most likely culprit is the sun or some other influences and factors. That said, it’s possible to go into an ice age just as easily and fast.
