February 2009 Travel
February 1, 2009
People are traveling all over the world right now. Though travel plans have been scaled back overall, the tourism outlook remains bright. We’re heading out on a trip to write about a national forest in the U.S., Sequoia National Forest, with the General Sherman tree. Though it is winter in the national park, this is an ideal time to visit with less crowds. Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia is situated right in the park, and managed by Delaware North Park Services, the company that also manage assets such as the Yosemite’s Ahwahnee Lodge.
Our travel writers and friends continue to send their stories end, as well, as they’ve discovered that some of the best deals exist right now. With airline flights down nearly 10% in December 2008, availability for seats has been very good, as have been the rates.
Zoie Clift, one travel writer based in Little Rock, just returned from Australia, and sent us her picture of a kangaroo in a vineyard. The beaches and landscapes look very inviting during Australia’s summer season.
The message is simple. If you have a little extra money and are planning to travel this year, we’re in an optimum window of travel due to economic conditions. Now is certainly a great time to take advantage of the situation and its a win-win. You save money, have less crowds, and the economy thanks you for spending your money now.
