Arizon mission

Arizona Images of  a Desert  Mission Courtyard

Missions were an integral part of life and the founding of the Southwest US. Spanish padres and explorers settle and the region, creating institutions that weren't just religion-based, but many times existed as community centers for settlement.

The photo above shows a blue sky and bright desert sun filtered through a lens with refraction that passes in front of a towering mission arch entryway to a courtyard.

Taken by Zoie Clift, the image above offers a glimpse into a part of the Arizona desert that offers a reverent look at life.
